Starting today, August 16th 2013, I'm taking commissions from the public. I'm offering two different styles of illustration for commission purposes: Head Shots and Body Shots.
Head Shots consist of a single character's head either in an angled profile or facing the viewer. Body Shots, on the other hand, are figure drawings in a semi-static pose (see the Acts of Villainy pics) that are simple to moderate in detail. In either case, heavy detail work is extra and the cost is either for color or grayscale. Extra characters in the same image are extra and based on the detail and time needed to draw them. The cost of each are as follows:
Head Shot: $15
Body Shot: $30
I work in a comic book style (as can be seen on my page) and can draw characters to fit most genres. All work is drawn in pencil and scanned, inked and colored digitally and shipped as a digital file only. Original pieces may be purchased at an additional cost. Please feel free to inquire about pricing. You retain all rights to your character, while I retain rights to the art and may show it as promotional material only unless permission is granted otherwise. Examples of my work can be seen on my DeviantArt Page. Please do not send me a character description until requested. Work on an illustration will commence once payment has been received, and the final file will be made available as a 100 dpi PNG and a 300 dpi JPEG. Other formats are possible upon request. Commissions are worked on along side my other work and could take an estimated week or two to finalize. There may be periods that I close the Commission List due to heavy work load, but will always reopen it when the load is lighter. Commissions in this manner are meant for personal use and not publication (for which a rate card can be provided upon request). Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions at sketchpad.studio@gmail.com. Many thanks in advance.
Villainy FAQ
As you might have notice, I've been pretty busy with the Acts of Villainy line. For those that don't follow my Facebook group, Sketchpad Studio, I've compiled the following FAQ to hopefully answer some questions.
What is Acts of Villainy?
Acts of Villainy is a line of supervillains to be used in Role Playing Games. Each issue contains the history of the issue's focus, along with stats and an illustrations. Some issues have added plot hooks or adventure roughs if space permits.
What's In The Line?
Currently, we offer the following publications under the AoV header:
• Solo: These are solo villains that either work on their own or in a freela
Brushing Off The Dust
Wow! Has it really been THAT long since I've been on DA?! Sorry for those that have followed me, I'm going to try and stay more current with my postings (probably 1/month). You may have noticed that new art has been hitting my Gallery under the header AoV (which stands for Acts of Villainy). These are my creator owned villains that I've been publishing for Mutants & Masterminds, Third Edition using my Tribute Universe setting. Having partnered up with Xion Studios, we sell the various titles within the Acts of Villainy and Acts of Heroism line at RPGNow, with a Collected book coming out in the near future. Go ahead, check them out. While
Over The Bump ...
So last Sunday was the "Big Four-Oh" for me. The day before, my family and friends surprised me with a Cintiq 12WX, which blew my mind. This particular tablet is one that works like a touch monitor basically ... you can draw right on it as if it were your paper rather than scanning. It's AWESOME!! I've been bantering whether or not I want to try and go 100% digital. In fact, I just posted a pic that was all Cintiq. What does everyone think? Think I should go 100% digital? If anyone's had any experience with this, I'd love to hear your thoughts :) For now, back to practicing and reading Freddie E. Williams II "DC Comics Guide to Digit
Welcome 2011
Okay, so I'm a month late ... But between job hunting, doodling and other activities, I've been pretty busy. It's my goal, however, to start posting a horde of stuff next month and continuing through the year. Stay tuned, folks ... more is on the horizon!
